We were delighted to welcome Mfikela Jean Samuel to work with our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. During his visit, he inspired and captivated the children, encouraging them to artistically express the story of Joe Taylor. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they developed new creative skills and explored new ways of thinking.
We are particularly grateful for the thoughtful and respectful space he created for conversations around race, identity and lived experiences. These meaningful discussions helped our pupils feel heard, ask questions openly and take time to reflect. The experience enriched their learning far beyond the artwork itself and left a lasting impact on everyone involved.
